1 Day – Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work – EFAW

A one-day course of 6 hours aimed at introducing a systematic approach of first aid. This mixed practical learning with scenarios of real situations.

The basic first aider can take control of an incident in the absence of a standard first aider. He/She can be the Appointed Person within the workplace. He/She ensures that an ambulance or other professional medical help is summoned when appropriate.

A range of subjects are covered including;

–   Responsibilities and reporting
–   Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
–   Burns
–   Resuscitation
–   Minor injuries
–   Choking
–   Assessment of the situation
–   Basic hygiene in First Aid
–   Epilepsy
–   Anatomy
–   Bleeding control
–   Shock
